Los Angeles/Dubai-based rapper DEEN releases the first video clip from the highly anticipated documentary “Mic Check: Hip-hop in the Middle East”.
Produced by Deen, business partner Joe Park, & their company Rebellion Records, “Mic Check” is a documentary film that focuses on the burgeoning hip-hop scene in the Middle East.
What’s the message the documentary is portraying? Deen tells us
“The central theme of the film is the impact hip hop has had outside of the U.S. with emphasis on an often misunderstood region like the Middle East, which is usually looked upon from the Western world as a more close minded or strict society. The film also touches on the struggles and the drive artists have in the region to make it in the music industry.”
The first teaser clip from “Mic Check” features DEEN rapping a 2 1/2 minute plus freestyle completely improvised on the spot with no memorized lyrics. The footage takes place in a studio in Dubai, UAE.
