Chirag Rao sings his heart out in Churaliya!

Introducing Chirag Rao, a British Asian vocalist, songwriter and composer who releases his debut track ‘Churaliya’ this week. Blessed with a velvet tone, the versatile Chirag is able to effortlessly adapt to both Hindi and English music, appealing to a wide range of listeners.

Churaliya’ is a heartfelt and catchy tune, with Chirag effortlessly lacing his vocals on a friendly and upbeat production courtesy of the 515 Crew. The result is a feel good dance track which is the perfect set up track for Chirag to develop a strong connection with the British Asian audience. Along with the original of ‘Churaliya’, the 515 Crew has also produced an electro remix with an edge and bass perfectly tailored for the dance- floor .

Chirag’s passion for music first took him to Mumbai where he became a student of one of India’s greatest exponents of Hindustani classical music and vocal training, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, who has also taught singers such as Hariharan, Shaan and Sonu Nigam.

He is currently undertaking further training under UK’s leading classical vocalist and vocal coach Pundit Chiranjib Chakraborty, who Chirag credits for moulding his talents further.

He tells Urban Asian

“My classical training has been such an important part of my journey into music. I have spent the last couple of years with some of the finest Indian music teachers learning the art and having recently hooked up with the 515 Crew, a production outfit and talented group of live musicians. I’m pleased to be recording and performing great music, including my first release ‘Churaliya’.
