Bollywood Music What's Happenin'

British Punjabi musician to make double debut in Bollywood

Seems like the Bollywood film industry is ready to embrace the sounds of British born and raised Punjabi musician Mehsopuria.

The musician is set to have been chosen to play one of the lead characters in the upcoming film ‘Cociane’ by the films producer Guru Sharma.

‘Cocaine’ is to be shot in Malaysia in early 2012 and will be an action based film along the lines of Hollywood’s ‘Bourne Identity’ and ‘Fast Five’. The film will see the icon not only make his debut as an actor but as a playback singer too as he will be lending his vocals for the title track too.

Producer Guru Sharma said: “It’s great to have Mehso on board. The title track for our film Cocaine is awesome. We have huge expectations for the film.”

Mehsopuria said: “I bumped into Guru last year, his vision as a producer caught my attention. He wanted me to sing he title track and also convinced me to make my debut as an actor too. I see it as an exciting challenge and huge buzz. It’s a Punjabi/hip-hop track, produced by my boy Majic, which brings the UK, US and India together. It’s lights, camera, action…lets change up the game in Bollywood.”
