Up and coming artist Romy Shay strikes gold by landing Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty, as the leading lady for his debut music video. In addition, Romy’s management, Mumbai Rouge, managed to secure world famous director Andy Morahan (credits include working with Michael Jackson, George Michael, and Guns and Roses) to produce and direct the video! Wardrobe and dresses were by D&G.
The track is produced by Vee Breezy, who tells us working on the collaboration was, “AMAZING!!!!! It feel’s like it was just only yesterday me and Romy shay was in my studio jamming for the first time and Bollywood Star was created …Not bad for a first studio session!! and now it’s finally OUT!! well done to the whole Team….This is just the beginning!! Myself, Rishi Rich, and Shilpa Shetty present Romy Shay……Bollywood star!”
The song is sure to top the charts, not just because of Shilpa’s presence in the video, but because the tune is off the hook! This Bollywood queen fell in love immediately with Romy’s song when she first heard it at a family gathering and instantly decided that she wanted to get involved. Since Shilpa’s marriage to businessman Raj Kundra in 2009, she has avoided the limelight and media in favor of a blissful married life. Shilpa Shetty rose to fame in the early ’90s with the movie “Baazigar” (1993) opposite Shahrukh Khan. However, in the UK, Shilpa is probably best known as the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2007! This video will be her first appearance on the screens of UK shores after her phenomenal win!
Speaking about her latest role in the music video Shilpa says: “I love the track and that is why I decided to be a part of it. What excites me the most is that it has been sung by Romy Shay who is extremely talented and hard working and I’ve said this before – Romy’s the rockstar… I’m the Bollywood star and Rishi Rich is the star maker! It’s a star endeavor.”
After being discovered by internationally renowned producer Rishi Rich – who has previously worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna and is responsible for breaking Jay Sean into the Asian market – Romy is set to push the boundaries of the music market with his fresh new sound which can described as bolly dance/funk.
