“Abhi baaki meri kahani hai, sari dunia ko jo sunani hai, mujhe pahchano, dekho mein hoon kaun, aa raha hoon palat ke, Mein Hoon Don”
The wait will finally be over. After 5 years, the much awaited sequence to the hit film Don is finally arriving, named “Don 2 – The Chase Continues.” Shot in Berlin and Malaysia and directed by Farhan Akhtar, “Don 2 – The Chase Continues” will be starring Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, and Om Puri, who were all a part of “Don – The Chase Begins Again”. Their roles will continue from where they had left off in the first part. Although we won’t be seeing Arjun Rampal in the sequel, we will be seeing two new characters played by Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor. The 1978 blockbuster film “Don” which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, and Pran was the inspiration behind the remake. Both, the original and remake, did phenomenal at the box-office.
In “Don – The Chase Begins Again”, Shahrukh was portrayed as the Indian don who was wanted in 11 countries. In “Don 2 – The Chase Continues”, the dons goal is to capture and rule the entire European market. “Shah Rukh’s clothes, cars, girls, gadgets, body language and perfume had to convey a global aura” revealed a source.
For the first time ever, Shahrukh will be seen sporting a “D” tattoo on his arm in Don 2 which has been registered for copyright protection in the name of King Khan himself. Shahrukh is the first actor ever to have his name registered with a tattoo design. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has revealed that along with Farhan Aktahar and SRK, they jointly decided that it would be a good idea to make the tattoo permanently Shahrukh’s, and therefore, created a new design for it. The decision was made as they see a potential in the Don franchise and plan on creating a line of Don inspired merchandise that will feature the ‘D’ symbol such as caps, T-shirts, bags and more.
Farhan Akhtar also stated that he will follow Don 2 with “Don 3 – The Chase Ends”, the third and final entry of the Don series. With the film expected to release days before Christmas on December 23rd, it’s sure to bring crowds to the theatres for the holidays.
