It’s time to put rumors to rest with regards to director M Night Shyamalan‘s new venture! Since last October, Hollywood has been wondering what this new film be about. Shyamalan struck box-office gold with “The Sixth Sense” back in 1999, but since then he’s only struck one failure after another.
Luckily, the director isn’t one to give up easily and is set to release his new fim, “One Thousand A. E.” Once you know the star cast, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that Shyamalan’s luck may change for the better with this one. You ready to find out?
Well, I’ll keep you in suspense no longer! The star cast is none other than the dynamic father-son duo of superstar Will Smith and Jaden Smith! That’s right, Shyamalan has sent successful ‘Signs’ towards the Smiths as both father-son have agreed to do his new film! Will and Jaden were last seen together for the film “The Pursuit of Happiness” in 2006. Since then Jaden solidified his place in Hollywood with the hit “The Karate Kid”, but we haven’t seen the two share the big screen in a long time. Hopefully, they’ll bring Shyamalan some luck and deliver a much needed hit for him.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the film is a futuristic sci-fi adventure that is set 1000 years into the future. While Will plays Jaden’s father, Jaden will essay the role of a boy who must learn to survive on an abandoned planet after his spaceship crashes. As long as Shyamalan doesn’t pull another “Last Airbender” it seems the movie has a lot of potential.
“The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project,” Shyamalan said in a statement.
We hope this venture stays as a good dream for Shyamalan and doesn’t end up being a box office nightmare. What do you all think of this combination? Will this be a hit or a flop?
