The story of Section 375 revolves around a famous Bollywood director Rohan Khurana (Rahul Bhat). The story states that Rohan allegedly rapes a junior dress designer Anjali Damle (Meera Chopra) from his team. The case goes to the police station and Rohan gets arrested. The case thus goes to the court and media and public gets angry and starts reacting to the news. Tarun Saluja (Akshaye Khanna) takes up the case as Defence Lawyer for Rohan and Hiral Gandhi (Richa Chadha) as Public Prosecutor for Anjali Damle.

The movie is shown in two very different perspectives. One, through the eye of the victim and another with the eye of the suspect.

The courtroom drama is shown so real and cautiously slow at times, but then that makes it seem more real. The small mistakes that could literally turn the case are shown precisely with every detail. You will get so engrossed in the movie that you might get mistaken that you are actually sitting in a court and watching the case live.

When we talk about acting, I feel no fear in saying that Akshaye Khanna stole this show with his ultimate expressions. His dialogues in the movie are so strong and meaningful that it will make you think twice to judge him as a bad character. He has a point in everything he says and a different expression for every time he talks. Richa Chadha, on the other hand, seemed like a newcomer to acting. Her character in the movie is shown strong but her actions didn’t make it up to it. Meera Chopra and Rahul Bhat were good at their parts. All the other characters in the movie did their part well.

About the direction, the movie got a good direction with at-times-shaking-camerawork. Ajay Bahl made sure to cut the unnecessary scenes from the movie and make it up to the point. The cinematography of the movie is decent. The best point in the movie was that there wasn’t any time waste by adding unnecessary songs to it. It was neither needed, nor added. A well-written movie is always appreciated and Manish Gupta deserves applause for the same.

All in all, this is not an entertainment movie, rather we can call it an eye-opener, sensible movie that will make your facts clear about some sections. Movies like Section 375 proves that Bollywood isn’t only about entertainment, but also sensible topics which need to be talked about and watched.

We give Section 375 4 stars.
