Director: Aditya Datt.
Cast: Sunny Leone, Bijay Anand, Grusha Kapoor, Karanvir Lamba, Marc Buckner.
Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story of Sunny Leone pours her heart out to you in this Zee5 web series which will give you the anecdotes from her life.
This is a story where Sunny says that she took those decisions despite all the thicks and thins and not as the victim of all that happened with her.
After watching Sunny Leone’s life story unfold in season 1 and 2, Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story of Sunny Leone in season 3 takes it up a notch higher. In this season, Sunny and her brother deal with her Dad befriending women after their mom’s death who later on is diagnosed with cancer and more importantly Sunny has to make a career choice of joining Big Boss Season 5.
How can one reflect on Sunny Leone’s performance as she plays herself so whatever she does is organic and probably this she is behaved or reacted when those events happened in her life. Performance wise Bijay Anand, Grusha Kapoor, Karanvir Lamba, Marc Buckner play their parts with sincerity.
Cinematography, sets, and costumes all combine to give you a very posh feel. The editing and background scores help the scenes adequately but in some scenes, the background score is either unnecessary or very preachy. The direction of Aditya Datt drags at some points and one glaring mistake is that the title of the series still spells Season 2 and that is one huge let off. Maybe season 2 was supposed to have 10 episodes just like season 1 and someone in hierarchy decided to break 10 episodes in 2 halves of 6 and 4 and make 2 seasons out of it albeit the super must have been changed by then.
We would like to applaud Sunny Leone as she unveils the skeleton’s from her closet in the same way she boasts about her decisions – Bare Naked.
Overall, Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story of Sunny Leone is binge-worthy.
