Jumanji: The Next Level takes places a while after the earlier release,Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. The film follows what happens when the four teen and a few more people get sucked into the game.
As the game is broken, the characters do not get the chance to choose their avatars and land up with new personalities. There is also the introduction of 2 new characters – Chinese lady and a black horse. What follows once they reach Jumanji is what makes up the remainder of the film.
Spencer is in New York and is currently on a break from his girlfriend Martha. Because of his insecurities, he decides to go back into the game to feel like Dr. Bravestone once again. His grandfather is still having a Cold War with his friend for selling off their diner. Do they over come these problem is what the film mainly concentrate on.
The recurring characters have got some upgrades in their strengths while also a few more weaknesses. The character switches – where people keep swapping characters – is good as the distinctive personalities of the individual charayare shown in their gaming avatars.
The visuals are sure to make you want to go and visit place like that. The emotion quotient of the film is high- it won’t make you cry but will make you feel for your friends.
Is the story as good as the board game Jumanji or Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle? No, it isn’t. The movie is fun with good comic scenes but it can and will bore you at certain parts. You may be able to predict what happens next which isn’t a positive for an adventurous movie like this.
Over all, this is a fun movie to watch this weekend with your friends. We give Jumanji: The Next Level 3 stars.
