Feature name: Forensic

Cast: Radhika Apte, Vikrant Massey, Prachi Desai

Directed By: Vishal Furia

OTT: Zee5

For its drama, Forensic chose Mussoorie with its huge mountains, thick forests, and shadowy corners. With the exception of a scene in which we witness psychiatrist Ranjana Gupta (Prachi Desai) snap her fingers to mesmerise young girls, Vishal Kapoor’s screenplay rings more or less true to the narrative by Adhir Bhat and Ajit Jagtap.

But because to Vikram Massey’s excellent performance as forensic specialist Johnny Khanna, who alternates between serious and lighthearted moods, the movie moves quickly.

It is about a serial killer who has perfected the art of murder and chooses to hunt down young girls on their birthdays.

A few supporting stories are masterfully woven throughout these awful disasters. Megha, Johnny’s police inspector wife, and he are no longer married (Radhika Apte). Years ago, his brother lost his daughter in an accident, and his wife was unable to handle the loss and killed herself.

But Massey’s levity more than makes up for all this despondence. He is charming, as seen by the way he continues to refer to Megha as “darling.”

It lightens the gloomy atmosphere between the two and on the little town, whose police department appears unable to pursue a crime of such horrific proportions.

He quickly handles it as a matter of forensic expertise, frequently leading us through the maze of scientific concepts. Some of his analytical results, as well as a few scenarios, are amazing.

Observe how Megha, who is looking into the deaths, follows a dwarf, believing that he is the culprit, even if numerous of his friends come to his aid.

Amazing solidarity among the physically handicapped is seen when one tosses a huge bedsheet over the victim. With Johnny at the wheel. A police car is given a terrible time during an exciting automobile pursuit on the twisting hill roads, but eventually spins out of control. Is that Mr. Bond?

When Megha’s niece vanishes, the narrative enters a dark period of turmoil. The aunt is appalled by the sudden change of events. However, Johnny intervenes to console Megha and solve the crime.

Even though we are aware that it will be solved (it has to be), the finale is nonetheless surprising. Albeit a touch over the top.

Smartly cut and a fascinating crime caper, although the writing could have used a bit more work.
