In this call, a man threatens to blow up the Bandra-Worli sealink of Mumbai with a bomb. Now Arjun increases his popularity through this call or tries to catch this man by listening to his inner voice, that is the story of the film.
The film is a Hindi remake of the South Korean film ‘The Terror Live’. The film raises the issue whether a journalist can be trusted? Does he have any conscience or does he simply forget his duty in the game of TRP. Questions have always been raised on the media and this is also the main issue of this film.
The film shows how Arjun, a journalist, does his duty in difficult times, Adarsh and thinks again about the right thing to do. The film was shot in just 11 days during the lockdown. Dhamaka is completely Kartik Aaryan’s film.
The story of Dhamaka keeps you hooked but its script doesn’t look that strong. It also has some very dramatic dialogues. The media persons are shown in a negative form in the film.
In this, an attempt has been made to give a message to the media that why they are called the fourth pillar of democracy. Ram Madhvani’s direction is definitely good.
Dhamaka is kind of a one-man show in which Kartik Aaryan has got his full opportunity and he has done it well. Even though Karthik’s acting is not as loud as it should have been, but his hard work is visible.
Kartik has proved that he can play different roles apart from the characters of Chocolate Boy. Mrunal Thakur has not got any special chance in a cameo role as Karthik’s wife. Yes, Amrita Subhash definitely suits as Karthik’s boss.
