Review By: Manisha Karki
Dabangg3 is all about love, revenge and some new beginning. There are many characters in this film but it’s all about Chulbul Pandey and his story move from Laalgunj to Kanpur to Tundla (all in Uttar Pradesh).
The story starts with a human trafficking incident and the entry of Salman Khan as Dabangg Chulbul Pandey with a high pack action scene.
Then the introductory song Dabangg in which he dances with his wife Rajjo played by Sonakshi Sinha. The story takes many ups and down showcasing the entry of the villain and Chulbul’s past story. One should watch this film to see Kiccha and Salman’s battle, Salman romance with Saiee and Sonakshi’s style.
Prabhudheva as a director has owned this zone with Wanted but he’s kind of repeating himself with Dabangg 3. The film would’ve been shorter if the fighting sequences in the films would be less. The film starts with a fight sequence and ended with a faceoff between Kiccha and Salman.
A very enthusiastic pair of Sajid-Wajid kills the watching experience multiple times. They throw unnecessarily songs at you fracturing your thoughts about the film. Awara’s placement is good, Munna Badnaam Hua will work with its target audience. The rest of the songs serve no purpose whatsoever. The background score of the film is good. The cinematography is on point with detail being paid to every little thing.
The story is surely a link up with the second installment of the film. If we talk about the story, the script follows multiple formulas used multiple times in many-a-films & mash them up into one. Also, some parts of the film are predictable like the one of Makkhi joining hands with Kiccha for power but in the end showcasing that he is on Salman’s side. Only the parts that are from the past are different other the story is the same old as the Dabangg series. It has action, drama and some chulbulnesss.
Talking about the performances, Salman Khan has done his job well – just as he did in Dabangg 1 & 2. The character of Chulbul was much loving and entertaining in the third series as well. Sonakshi creates the mast mast magic with her performance.
The film has a newbie Saiee M Manjarekar she plays Khushi in the film. She is Chulbul younger self’s love interest. Her parts catch more attention in the film as it a sweet kind of love story that’s been showcased between Salman and Saiee.
The story is always incomplete without a villain and in this it is Kichcha Sudeep, who plays Bali Singh. We have always seen him as a rowdy in south film and in this film also he shines bright. Overall Salman was the main in all the frames and hid every character behind him with his performance which is good and bad at the same time. Apart from this, all the other character in the film has beautifully done their part.
We give Dabangg3 3.5 stars. You can catch this film in weekends for some fun with family and friends.
