First things first. Avengers: Endgame has left us with a huge void. How will we survive now? What will we be excited about? Sob, sob, sob. Now that we’re done being dramatic, let’s move on.
Continuing from Avengers: Infinity War in which Thanos (Josh Brolin) wiped out 50% of the universe’s population, this installment sees the remaining superheroes trying to find a way out. They do come up with a solution (which we obviously aren’t going to reveal) but it has obstacles they didn’t even think of.
It has a plethora of goosebumps-inducing moments and scenes. The scene in which all the female superheroes come together takes the cakes. It’s damn good! Another scene involving The Hulk, Ant-Man and a few fans is hilarious. It wasn’t possible to give every important character a meaty role or enough screen presence, and we totally get that.
But it’s not like the film is flawless. With a duration of 181 minutes, it is a tad long. You wish the events leading up to the climax were tighter and more exciting.
The performances of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo & Paul Rudd are wonderful while the other actors are good in their respective roles.
All said and done, Avengers: Endgame is a good finale. We give it 3.5 stars.
