  • Combined Defense Services (CDS)

Level of Exam: National

Mode of Exam: Tier – I Exam (Online)

The Union Public Service Commission conducts the CDS exam to recruit students for various sectors of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is conducted twice a year, usually in February and November.

Students across the nation who have completed their graduation are eligible to apply for CDS. Candidates will have to attempt a written test and appear for intelligence and personal interview to qualify for the examination.

Aspirants can attempt CDS in English and Hindi languages. The question paper comprises questions based on General Knowledge, English, and Elementary Mathematics.

Further, candidates are selected after completing four stages: Written-test, SSC interview, Document verification, Medical examination.

  • National Defense Academy (NDA)

Level of Exam: National

Mode of Application: Online

Mode of Exam: Offline

UPSC conducts the National Defense Academy exam twice a year. The exam is usually scheduled in April and September.

Candidates who wish to join the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of NDA & Indian Naval Academy Course can attempt this exam. There are two selection stages in this exam: A written Test followed by SSB Interview. Candidates are recruited based on marks scored out of 900, combining both recruitment stages.

The NDA examination is divided into two sections: Mathematics and General Ability Test. The duration of each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Students will find valuable preparation tips about the exam on the Prepp.in 

The mathematics section contains questions based on Algebra, Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Vector Algebra, Matrices & Determinants, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations, etc. Simultaneously, the General Ability Test contains questions on Physics, Chemistry, Geography, History, Current Affairs, General Science. Also, do note that only male candidates can apply for this exam.

  • Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)

If one is planning for AFCAT, they can get loads of information about the exam on Prepp.in portal. Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted to recruit candidates for multiple posts in the Air Force, including Flying Officers, Officers in Ground Duty – Non-Technical Post, and Officers in Ground Duty – Technical Post.

Indian Air Force conducts the exam twice a year (in February and August). It is divided into two parts AFCAT and EKT (for the Technical branch only). The AFCAT exam is for 2 hours, and EKT is 45 minutes. Students can also check the syllabus and important topics to prepare for on the Prepp.in portal.

The selection process for AFCAT is conducted in three stages: AFCAT written test, AFSB interview, and AFCAT final selection.

  • Indian Coast Guard Navik

The Indian Coast Guard Crest fulfils the responsibility for recruiting candidates for Indian Coast Guard Navik General Duty (GD) and Indian Coast Guard Navik Domestic Branch (DB). The recruitment process is done through the Indian Coast Guard Navik examination. Students can check all information on the Prepp Online Education Website regarding the same.

This exam is conducted offline, and candidates who wish to serve as an Indian Coast Guard Navik GD or DB need to attempt this exam. The medium of the exam is English and Hindi. The paper contains questions on various topics, including English, Mathematics and Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge, Physics, Reasoning, and Chemistry.

To get selected as an Indian Coast Guard Navik GD or DB officer, candidates need to pass three selection rounds. They have to appear for a written test, physical fitness examination, and medical examination.

  • Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (IB ACIO)

Level of Exam: National

Mode of Application: Online

Mode of Exam: Tier – I (Happened Online)

The Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer is a national-level examination conducted under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The exam is conducted for the post of Grade II, Group C (Non-gazetted, non-ministerial) executive post.

IB ACIO is conducted once a year, and only Indian citizens who have completed their graduation are eligible to appear for this exam. Also, there are around 750 joiners for every batch. The entire training is divided into three parts.

The exam is conducted in three stages: Written-test, Comprehension and Precis writing, and Personal interview. Don’t forget to check the important topics in the Syllabus section of the exam on Prepp.in.

In the first stage, candidates must answer questions on General Awareness, Logical / Analytical Ability, Quantitative aptitude test, and English. While in the second stage, the candidates need to write an essay on the topic mentioned in the question paper. Lastly, they need to appear for a personal interview.

The final merit list is then prepared based on the performances of the candidates.
