Salman Khan who is all set for his upcoming film Race 3 will be foraying into distribution.
Salman Khan started producing films under the banner name Salman Khan Films with Bajrangi Bhaijaan. While the actor has carved a place for himself as a producer, Salman now enters distribution with Race 3.
He can easily be called multifaceted. After all, Salman Khan hasn’t been just a superstar but also a writer, producer as well as a singer. Now, in the latest instance, we have learned that the actor is set to turn distributor too, with his next release, Race 3.
Race 3 which is jointly produced by Salman Khan Films headed by Salman’s mother Salma Khan, will be distributed by Salim Saheb who will personally look into the distribution.
While two leading distributors were pitching hard to bag the distribution rights of the film, however, Salman inked the deal himself after the roaring response received by the film’s trailer.
The makers also recently released the first song of the film ‘Heeriye’ featuring Salman Khan along with Jacqueline Fernandez.
“Come to think of it, business-wise, it’s a logical step by his company because Salman Khan has produced a number of biggies till date including Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). Now, with the latest step [of turning distributor], he will have a say and hold over the wide reach of films,” says a trade insider.
“Since Salman won’t have the time to look into the nitty-gritty of the distribution side, Salim saab is going to be involved on a day-to-day basis. The actor is also happy that his father will be overlooking things as the latter has had a vast experience in the film industry,” says the insider.
Salman production house is also producing Loveratri that introduces his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma. “It’s too early to say if the company will distribute Loverateri as well. That call will be taken later, but as of now, it can be confirmed that Race 3 will mark Salman’s debut as a film distributor,” adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Salman couldn’t be reached for a comment but his spokesperson confirmed the news, saying: “We are looking forward to this new journey. It’s too early to talk about all the details right now.”
Produced by Salman Khan Films and Ramesh Taurani under the banner of Tips Films, Race 3 is directed by Remo D’souza and will hit theatres on 15th June 2018.
