Should Endemol Shine be Ashamed for Bigg Boss 11?

On October 1, 2017, the Dutch-based media company Endemol Shine’s reality show Bigg Boss on Colors channel, did something they have never done before. They introduced a lady called Arshi Khan on India’s No. 1 reality show, interacting with India’s No. 1 Bollywood star Salman Khan.

The lady has earlier stuck pictures of Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi on her naked breasts. Yes, you read it right — on her naked breasts.

On another instance, Arshi Khan has worn figure-hugging hot-pants with the Pakistani flag painted on the crotch. Yes, you read it right — on the crotch, along with the flag painted on her chest and bra.

These and more pictures are all over the internet. A past report in Mumbai Mirror has the model even pointing fingers at the Mumbai Police, claiming they asked her for sexual favors. And now this is the lady Endemol Shine, Bigg Boss and Salman Khan are introducing on the Indian national television platform.

Headquartered in Netherlands, around two years ago, Endemol was merged into Endemol Shine Group (a joint-venture between 21st Century Fox and Apollo Global Management), with Sophie Turner Laing being its current CEO.

There are some simple questions:

Should Endemol Shine be ashamed of introducing Arshi Khan to India on a national platform?

Is the rumour about Arshi Khan being in an emotional relationship with the head honcho of a top conglomerate true?

Didn’t Endemol Shine do their research properly before the show? Is this for TRP?

Kya Salman Khan ke itne bure din aa gaye that he has to interact with someone who had Shahid Afridi’s pictures stuck on her naked breasts and Pakistani flag on her hot-pants’ crotch?

Is this our culture? Is it a cool thing to do?

Would the torchbearers of culture Raj Thackeray (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena – MNS), Uddhav Thackray (Shiv Sena), Yogi Adityanath (Bharatiya Janata Party – BJP), Pravin Togadia (Vishva Hindu Parishad – VHP), Vishnu Gupta (Hindu Sena), Deepak Sharma (Rashtriya Swabhiman Dal) and Mohan Bhagwat (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh – RSS) have anything to say about this?

Would the Ministry of Culture minister Mahesh Sharma have a say on this?

Could Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) minister Smriti Irani (who has earlier been an icon on Indian television) have an opinion about this?

Should the Netherlands or India-based Endemol Shine conduct an inquiry into the matters?

Is this what we want viewers of the No. 1 reality show on Indian television hosted by the No. 1 star of Bollywood, to see?
