At the trailer launch of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, Imtiaz Ali spoke in depth about Shah Rukh Khan.
When asked how it was working with Shah Rukh Khan, given the fact that he has a huge fan following, Imtiaz said,
“Because of Shah Rukh himself, there was no pressure like that. Working with him was like working with any actor. Of course, during the shoot there was too much crowd trying to break in to see Shah Rukh Khan. That was when you realize that he’s a very big star. But otherwise, the way he carries himself and the way he participates and the way he is, you don’t get the feeling that he’s a very big star.”
He added,
“It was easy to work with Shah Rukh Khan because he’s a theatre actor and more so because I’m from theatre. We both are from Delhi theatre so it was easy to communicate. I was very happily surprised to know that he’s a very basic theatre actor. For him, script is important and co-actor is important. He’s the most giving actor I’ve worked with. He’s very giving to his co-actors and everyone involved in the process.”
