When it comes to vocals Muza has practiced the middle eastern and southeast Asian styles and incorporates it into his vocals. Never afraid to cross genres and ignore borders, he can sing in English, Spanish, Bangla, Hindi, and Arabic!
What music did you grow up on as a child?
Linkin Park and Habib Wahid. So lots of emotional music.
When did you find your passion?
When I was in middle school and was introduced to propellerhead reason. A music making software that I still use till today. I fell in love with making music.
What was the life-changing event for you? What was the biggest challenge you faced in the music industry as an artist?
Challenging event I would say is producing music that’s out of my specialties which is EDM, son when I made the song “Tui Kothay” from my album “3RD EYE” it was really hard for me because the genre was folk-pop in a way. So inner battles as in artists are the toughest hence why self-belief is so pivotal in one’s success. As for a life-changing event, I’d say my song “Bondhurey” it was my 1st Bangla song first EDM Bangla song I was scared. So scared that I didn’t even want to be in the video. But the song is so successful and I’d say is the biggest Bangla urban song as of right now.
If you were not an artist…
I’d probably be a professional soccer player. I love soccer and am a die-hard fan. I actually coach soccer part-time to little kids.
Walk us through your first project…
My first solo project was a Hindi/English song called “That Girl”. It was all the basic small Hindi I knew mixed with English. I wrote it, sung it, produced, mixed, and mastered it like most of my songs.
When did you start writing music? You think art can be learned or you are born with it?
I started writing poetry when I was in the 5th grade and so how powerful it is. Although I’ve never been in love. I enjoyed writing love poems. I think art is partially born with and learned. My flow comes from within and production and everything else I learned. I don’t make generic music. I make authentic music that comes from within and that can never be learned or taught.
What is the inspiration behind this music?
My music is emotional I like having an emotional connection with people. But with my Bangla stuff, it’s beyond that. It’s about Bangla pride. I mix it with English to give a dynamic and help the people outside of Bangladesh vibe with it and relate to it.
Who is your favorite band/singer?
American? I listen to a lot of producers meaning DJ’s like Tritonal who is at the top of my all time fave list then Dash Berlin and etc… Singers/bands, Linkin Park, The weekend, Bruno Mars. Bangla singers, Habib Wahid and Arfin Rumey, Hindi, Arjit Singh Atif Aslam
Is there someone you would want to collaborate in the near future?
Yes, a lot too many to list. Habib Wahid is at the top of my list.
Some words for your fans……
I like the word supporters better because if it wasn’t for their support I would not be where I am today. More music to come more collars to happen and I will continue you saying this don’t be afraid to show your inner Bangla. Who cares what people think. I eat baath watch Bangla natoks and sing Gari cholera out loud. Keep supporting Bangla artists beyond myself. Your love is always appreciated.
