D-Boy, the musical genius behind the sounds and brands of several UK talents through his record label Beatcircle, is ready to step into the spotlight himself with his debut single ‘Chain’!
D-Boy’s new sound can be best described as ‘U-Desi’ (Urban Desi), a combination of modern R&B and deep 808 subs overlaid with a Hindi/Pop feel.
Says D-Boy,
“I have been spending a lot of time in India working with Bollywood playback singers and have learnt so much from them. I am loving a lot of new R&B songs and wanted to do my own U-Desi take on it without trying to compete with the Bollywood sound, as well as singing my own songs! I felt it would mean more if I sang the songs I created from my own heart and experience and have so many personal reasons for finally doing this. It’s been challenging but it felt good to throw myself into the mix and give myself a chance for a change.”
The forthcoming video was shot on the new Panasonic Ultra HD 4K camera by Suki Mok at Kii Studios, West London and features the multi-talented choreographer and fashion designer, Saran Kohli.
