Hollywood star Elijah Wood, best known for his role as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, has turned international DJ! Elijah and partner Zach Cowie, performing together under the name Wooden Wisdom, kicked off their maiden tour of India on September 3rd at the Mercedes-Benz Showroom in Andheri West. After their stint in Mumbai, the duo will then head to Delhi and Hyderabad.
Seeking to foster a musical conversation through their words, Wooden Wisdom creates a unique and eclectic sound by incorporating international musical trends into their act. Citing Asha Bhosle and Bappi Lahiri as major influences, Elijah has produced special tracks featuring popular Bollywood songs especially for the Indian audience.
Topping his to-do list while in India, Elijah says he’s looking forward to discovering new records that will help him better understand Bollywood music. He also plans to sample some local flavors during his trip by indulging in plenty of Indian food and experiencing other Indian customs, saying:
“I do not plan to go to a Costa Coffee because I’d prefer chai over it. I’m also very amused by the rickshaws here and plan to travel in them while attending my meetings and parties.”
With so much talent on hand and audience anticipation building, Wooden Wisdom’s Indian tour is truly something to look forward to!
