UK’s popular artist Mumzy Stranger definitely doesn’t want to become a stranger to you! His latest track is titled “Get to Know” (available on iTunes), and if you don’t know who Mumzy is, this track will fill you in! The multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer from East London follows up the infectious ‘Love Comfort’ with a slice of smooth nostalgic R’n’B. ‘Get To Know’, which sees Mumzy return to his roots, by reworking one of the tracks which first brought him to the attention of Asian music fans around the UK.

On his latest release, Mumzy tells us:
“A lot of my fans were in their early teens when I was making songs like ‘Get To Know’ in my bedroom. At the time the production was simple but the fans related to the lyrics and enjoyed the catchy melodies. A few years on and these same fans who have grown up to my music have been repeatedly asking me to officially release some of the classic tracks which they still listen to on YouTube or their old iPods. So this is for everyone to remember and enjoy the good times.”
‘Get To Know’ is a catchy R’n’B track perfect for the summer and true to Mumzy’s trademark urban style of melody, lyrics and production. Incredibly the song, which first surfaced around 7 years ago, has built a cult following on YouTube over the years with around half a million hits on a number of unofficial versions uploaded by fans.
Speaking about his internet success and fan following Mumzy explains:
“As my fan base has grown over the last few years, whether it be for me as an artist or as a producer for the acts that I’ve been working with, the audience has been discovering and rediscovering my older material. So tracks like ‘Get To Know’ have continued to build in the online space. I feel the time is right to officially release an EP of some of these tracks and give the fans the songs that they’ve been requesting on social media and at my live shows on many occasions.”
The video for ‘Get To Know’ was shot in Morocco and the location plays the perfect backdrop to the fun, upbeat track. The song is self produced by Mumzy’s own Stranger Productions as well as his young protege Lyan Roze and X11.
