5 Exercises To Do While in Quarantine to benefit your Self Motivation and Mental Health

Fun ways to exercise during Quarantine!

Is your gym closed during this awful pandemic? Do you have a hard time sticking to your workout schedule now since parks, recreation, fitness centers, etc. are all closed? Are you stressing about your online classes and college acceptances currently as well? With these 5 amazing workout ideas, you’ll be back to your workout feeling lively and accomplished in quarantine!

Please note that these exercises are beneficial to motivate yourself and improve your self-love + mental health when it comes to you dealing with stress, bullies, rejections, anxiety, etc. Plus, these are not just for while being quarantined, they can be used anytime and daily!

1) A jog around your neighborhood listening to music.

When you go out for a jog bringing your delightful headphones, you imagine yourself free and happy with the mix of your self-care and determination to work out when a treadmill isn’t available. This exercise not only boosts your metabolism, but it also gives you a warm feeling of calmness and self-devotion when listening to music.  In addition, this is a perfect way to spend 1 hour of your day mixing self-love and exercise. (Keep in mind, music improves emotional health!)

2) YouTube Zumba or Just dance

Are you a dance lover when it comes to Tiktok and TV/YouTube? Simply search up on YouTube your favorite song along with Zumba then click whichever would pop up. After that, dance away by feeling the rhythm and music. Dancing reduces depression when you’re moving and grooving! (Do it with your family to make it more fun!)  ‍‍‍

3) Basic indoor warmups

Basic warmups are various warmups to do if you’re feeling basic and want to work out specific areas of your body. Sweat it out in your garage or any room with a yoga mat + headphones and start completing warmups to help particular features of your body to cultivate strong! (Make a different routine each time so your body can get used to various exercises!) When you go out for a jog bringing your delightful headphones, you imagine yourself free and happy with the mix of your self-care and determination to work out when a treadmill isn’t available.

  • Jumping jacks
  • Mountain climbers
  • Push-ups
  • Burpees
  • Sit-ups
  • High knees

How to Lose Belly Fat (Not listed in a specific order):

    1. 30 Jumping jacks.
    2. 30-sec High knees.
    3. 20 Burpees.

Do this 4 times a week!

4) Gymnastics!

Are you bored being out of school, stuck in quarantine? If so, try something new by kicking in some gymnastics! Search on YouTube; “How to do a ________”, then put whatever you want such as an aerial, backflip, cartwheel, etc. Try to keep up and learn a new skill since the more you know, the more places you’ll go! Kill off the boredom by motivating yourself to try and do something new!

Here are a few basic gymnastics skills you can learn and accomplish:

    • A simple cartwheel.
    • A basic front or back walkover.
    • Handstands or headstands.
    • Straightforward Somersaults.

5) Playing with a ball ️  

If you have a ball, please try and take advantage of the many opportunities on the exercise you can do with it such as catch, basketball (if you have a hoop), monkey in the middle, and more. Going outside and playing with a ball will not only gift you healthy exercise but also a breeze of fresh air since you’re all outdoor. Additionally, you should play with neighbors and friends around your block since they make it more fun and enjoyable! 

Here are a few ideas that don’t require additional equipment:

  • Monkey in the middle.
  • Playing catch with a large stable wall. (Throwing it back and forth)
