péro × Barbie® Unveils Dream Dress-Up Collection at Lakmē Fashion Week Spring Summer 2027

Spread the love

péro opened Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI in New Delhi with its Spring Summer 2027 collection, Dream Dress-Up, celebrating its global collaboration with Barbie® through playful designs, handcrafted details and limitless self-expression.

Fashion, beauty and imagination came together in a spectacular opening showcase as péro unveiled its global Barbie® collaboration at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI on October 14, 2026, at Taj Palace, New Delhi. Presented by Lakmē × Tira, the showcase introduced the designer label’s Spring Summer 2027 collection, Dream Dress-Up, bringing Barbie’s iconic spirit of creativity and possibility to péro’s distinctive world of craftsmanship and storytelling.

Facilitated by Dream Theatre, Mattel’s licensing agency in India, the collaboration celebrated individuality, playful self-expression and the freedom to experiment with personal style. Blending péro’s signature handmade aesthetic with Barbie’s enduring cultural influence, the collection encouraged fashion lovers to embrace their identities without boundaries.

péro × Barbie®: A Celebration of Fashion Without Rules

At the heart of Dream Dress-Up is the belief that fashion should be an expression of who we are, rather than a set of rules about how we should dress. Designed by péro founder and creative director Aneeth Arora, the Spring Summer 2027 collection explores the many identities, moods and possibilities that shape personal style.

The collection challenges conventional ideas of femininity and masculinity, bringing together softness and strength through unexpected combinations, relaxed silhouettes and imaginative styling. Staying true to péro’s design philosophy, the pieces celebrate handmade details, textile experimentation and the beauty of imperfection.

Speaking about the collaboration, Aneeth Arora, Founder and Creative Director of péro, said:

“Barbie® has always represented the freedom to dream beyond what is expected – to Dress-Up, play with identity and imagine all the different ways of being. That spirit feels very close to péro. I have always believed that clothes should leave space for curiosity, joy and individuality, rather than tell us who we should be. With Dream Dress-Up, we wanted to bring our worlds together through craft, colour and play, and create a season that feels open to everyone.”

Inside péro’s Spring Summer 2027 Collection

The Dream Dress-Up collection embraces a playful approach to dressing, featuring relaxed silhouettes designed to encourage movement, comfort and individuality.

Key design elements include:

  • Playful prints: Expressive patterns that bring colour and personality to everyday dressing.
  • Crochet and lace: Textural details that highlight péro’s handcrafted approach.
  • Bows and intricate embellishments: Whimsical accents that add character to the collection.
  • Unexpected layering: Creative combinations that challenge conventional styling.
  • Barbie pink: The iconic shade is reimagined as a colour for everyone, moving beyond traditional associations with femininity.

One of the collection’s central inspirations is Barbie’s iconic pink box, reinterpreted as a metaphor for stepping beyond expectations. Rather than defining who someone should be, the box represents the possibilities that emerge when people embrace their individuality.

Through Dream Dress-Up, péro invites fashion lovers to explore different sides of themselves and rediscover the joy of getting dressed.

Lakmē × Tira Bring Beauty to the Runway

The opening showcase also highlighted the growing connection between fashion and beauty, with Lakmē and Tira bringing their respective perspectives to the runway experience.

While Lakmē contributed its beauty expertise, Tira introduced a spirit of discovery, demonstrating how colours, textures and beauty techniques can transform a fashion look. The collaboration positioned beauty as an essential part of the fashion narrative, complementing péro’s expressive designs.

The Lakmē 9to5 HYA Glam range played a key role in completing the runway looks, adding high-impact colour and a luminous finish to complement the collection’s playful aesthetic.

Sunanda Khaitan, Chief Marketing Officer, Beauty & Wellbeing, Hindustan Unilever Limited, reflected on the partnership, saying:

“Having closed our showcase with pēro in March, stepping back into Aneeth’s whimsical world to open this edition felt like pure magic. Her design language is so rich and emotive, and beauty is what breathes life into that canvas, with our new Lakmē 9to5 HYA Glam Range, bringing every look alive with high-impact color, effortless glow, and that unmistakable runway vibe. Together with Tira at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, this Opening Showcase sets a vibrant new benchmark for fashion and beauty coming together.”

Bhakti Modi, CEO and Co-founder of Tira, also shared her thoughts on the collaboration:

“What made this showcase special was the way péro brought imagination to the runway, turning the simple joy of dressing up into something wonderfully unexpected. At Tira, we see beauty as an opportunity to add another dimension to that experience, where a touch of colour or a change in texture can completely shift the character of a look. It was exciting to see this spirit come alive through péro’s collaboration with Barbie®, celebrating creativity without rules or limitations.”

Lakmē Fashion Week Opens with a Global Fashion Collaboration

The péro × Barbie® showcase set an imaginative tone for the October 2026 edition of Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, bringing together Indian craftsmanship, international pop culture and contemporary beauty trends.

By combining Barbie’s message of limitless possibility with péro’s commitment to handcrafted design and creative expression, Dream Dress-Up offers a fresh perspective on the relationship between fashion and identity.

The collaboration reinforces the idea that getting dressed is about more than following trends. It is an opportunity to experiment, express individuality and discover new possibilities through personal style.

The péro × Barbie® Dream Dress-Up collection is scheduled for a worldwide release in Spring 2027.
