From architecture to fashion, and physical products to the intangible, design is something that exists in societies across the globe. More often than not, styles vary globally. Take Buckingham Palace and the Taj Mahal as an example – they’re both extremely iconic and beautiful buildings yet come from a very different design background. The same can be said for a lot of things, though one thing that appears to have a consistent design no matter where you go, is the slot machine.

Vibrant, colorful, and full of motion, the slot machine can easily be recognized no matter where you are in the world. It even has consistency across the online space which goes to show that the design of a slot machine is important in order to live up to its expectations and warrant itself as a slot machine. We’ll take a look at those all-important design aspects below.

Color

Perhaps the first thing that can be noticed about a slot machine is the extensive color palette used. Whether you’re in a casino, a bar, or are playing online, the colors of a slot machine can be seen longing for your attention as their vibrancy meets the corner of your eye from meters away. It’s unquestionable that all of the slot machines on the market include more than one color. Browsing the games available on Space Casino is proof of this, since it hosts an array of slot machines, from Dragon’s Luck to Super Circus, which are bursting with shades. The rainbow of colors you are greeted with upon visiting an online slot machine site like this perhaps makes the decision of what bonuses you should take advantage of first much harder, since the colors used make every game inviting.

Reflection upon the color palettes used in slot machines, it’s easy to say that without them, a slot machine wouldn’t be as inviting or exciting. After all, they’re a retro machine, and wouldn’t qualify as retro if the colors weren’t bold and vibrant. That being said, a lot of praise should be given to designers across the world for meeting societal expectations.

Motion

A slot machine wouldn’t be a slot machine if it didn’t have a row of icons that spun at a fast pace. From Reel King to Sunny Fruits, the aforementioned colors are put into motion as the icons are played against each other with the aim of getting a match. This motion is what creates excitement for the player and is actually the core of the game. Without the motion, the game would cease to exist! By first developing the icons, the designers are responsible for creating a theme, which often varies from fruit to animals. Regardless of the theme, however, the motion of the slot machine falls in line with the industry standard and can be credited to perfection from the designer.

Often, it’s easy to forget to applaud the behind-the-scenes designers and just take for granted the final product we are handed with. On a daily basis, tourist attractions are visited, clothing is purchased, and games are played, but the designers go unnoticed in the background. Yet, in actual fact, a lot of the things we get enjoyment from can be traced back to the hard work of the designer.
