Pratimaa Pandey The Vision Behind Label PRAMAA

Pratimaa Pandey is the vision behind label ‘Pramaa’. A graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, she won the Grazia Young Fashion Awards in the category of eco-friendly fashion in 2011. Her label Pramaa lays emphasis on natural fabrics and indigenous embroidery techniques thereby encouraging craftsmanship and sustainability.

Her label ‘Pramaa’ at New Delhi specializes in fusion wear with Indian sensibilities. Her garments are for the unapologetically fashionable woman, who has a progressive outlook, discerning taste, and an Indian soul. Delicately embroidered, layered and flowing garments in classic cuts and silhouettes, are intended to drape the feminine form in an enchanting aura. The use of pure, natural fabrics like Silk Chanderi, Khadis and Silks are sourced from specialist weaving communities across India, affirming Pramaa’s strong belief ethical and sustainable sourcing. While her outfits are displayed at her sprawling studio, she also stocks up at Ogaan, Carma, Ensemble, Aza, Evoluzione, Elahe, Anantam, Elan, Collage, Mogra, Fuel, Ffolio, 85 Lansdowne and more.

Pratimaa has taken significant strides in the fashion arena. The fact that almost all iconic names of the glamour world have endorsed Pramaa, bears testimony to her uniquely fresh perspective on fashion.

Pratimaa, who has also done a fashion styling course from London, started participating in fashion week way back in 2009. For one of her shows, she also collaborated with Indian contemporary artist Vivan Sundaram for the art project – GAGAWAKA for avant-gardeout collection using material like––plastic cups, sanitary napkins, bras, medicines, etc.

She has several prestigious assignments to her credit, like designing the uniform for Indian Air Force Women Pilot, Bharat Petroleum RO’s, Novotel and HICC in Hyderabad. Adding to her portfolio, she has also been associated with NIFT and NSD as a guest faculty.
