Asha Bhosle Funeral Updates: Singer’s mortal remains reach residence; Celebs attend last rites at Shivaji Park, Mumbai

The last rites of legendary singer Asha Bhosle will be held on Monday afternoon at Shivaji Park with full state honours. She passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital.

Asha Bhosle was one of India’s most loved singers. She had a remarkable career spanning over seventy years and sang thousands of songs in different styles. Her voice brought life to Bollywood music, and her contribution will always be remembered. Her passing is seen as the end of a golden era in Indian music.

After her death, her mortal remains were brought to her home in Lower Parel. Many leaders and celebrities visited to pay their last respects. Devendra Fadnavis offered floral tributes, along with Ashish Shelar and other leaders like Sunil Shinde and Prasad Lad.

Her son, Anand Bhosle, said that the public can pay their respects from 11 am at her residence, Casa Grande. The final rites will take place at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.

Asha Bhosle, fondly called “Ashatai,” received many top honours, including the Padma Vibhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan awards.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan said her passing is a loss of an entire era. Actor Ranveer Singh also paid tribute, remembering her as a legendary voice whose songs will continue to inspire generations.

Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter Zanai Bhosle, who looked visibly distraught after her passing, has opened up on the huge loss. After being consoled by the likes of Tabu and Vicky Kaushal at the antim darshanand state funeral of the legendary singer, an overwhelmed Zanai took to her Instagram Stories to share gratitude.
