Actress Simple Kaul, along with her business partners actor Aditi Malik, Vatsala Rajeev Raj , Ankit Anand , Suraj Shetty & Amit Sharma recently launched their new European-themed restaurant Que Sera Sera.

Speaking of her entrepreneur traits, Simple says,
“I’ve always wanted to have an alternate career apart from acting. Something that would be stable, and something I enjoyed doing. While travelling to European countries and visiting the small, old and intimate cafés in the villages & towns there, both Aditi and I were so stunned with the beauty & warmth of these cafés that we wanted to bring the same feel here in Mumbai. We wanted people to experience the same vibe that we had experienced hence we opened the homemade cafe, a small tiny intimate cafe in the midst of Andheri . And then the journey of other restaurants started. When we are doing up our places, we always give a personal touch to it. Whenever we travel to different countries, we bring a piece of that place here in our restaurants. We pick up small accessories from wherever we go. Aditi designs the place herself so there’s always that unique touch that only we can give. I’m a people’s person and I love the hustle bustle in restaurants- the conversations, the music, the vibrant energy. Watching people enjoying and laughing. Having fun or intimate conversations over good food and creating beautiful memories at our restaurants brings immense joy to our soul. And what is life without beauty? Creating beauty through our pretty restaurants brings joy to everyone’s life.”
She also adds,
“Aditi, started conceptualising all the creative bits, and and I got into the marketing of the places & our other partners look into operations. So each one of us has a different role to play and together we make this outlet a success.”
Simple also shares how travelling to different parts of the world inspires her. She says,
”Travelling inspired both of us. Aditi and I travelled together, and we got really inspired. We started with a small cafe called the Homemade Cafe, which was a 20-seater restaurant with seven tables. It did very, very well. It still does very well for us. And then we opened quite a few restaurants, and the latest one that we’ve just launched is the Que Sera Sera. We didn’t want to focus only on Italian and wanted to have vast European cuisine. The place is very Italian looking. The food pyramid is looked after by Aditi; she designs and curates the entire menu with the chef. I love the pizzas here. You have one bite of it and it feels like a bite of authentic European pizza. It is the yummiest and of course my favourite.”
Simple has a huge admiration for Europe and adds,
”I feel that I was from some European village, Italy, or Spain somewhere in my earlier life because I just love their food, the vibe, the culture so much . Every corner is so romantic and beautiful. When you enter our restaurant, it will remind you of Europe. We both are so enamoured by the villages in Europe that all our places have a little reflection of European villages.”
Looking back on the process of opening your restaurant, what have you found to be the most rewarding part of this new venture?
“The most important part of the new venture is with each venture we become better, each place is better looking than the previous. People have more expectations with each new one coming. Also, the fact that people love our food & go back with a happy heart & mindset brings immense joy to us. So making money out of something that creates happiness for you and for others is the best way of living. People who already had our food at our launch loved it & are only craving for more . We open today first of August.”
