SHIAMAK Vancouver Presented Bollywood Divas

Vancouver, Canada (July 4, 2023) – After the success of spirit of BOLLYWOOD and spirit of INDIA, SHIAMAK Vancouver presented Bollywood DIVAS, a dance tribute to the dream girls of Indian Cinema.

Known for creating stunning visuals with breathtaking choreography, costumes, props and lighting design, Vancouver’s leading entertainment design and choreography company –SHIAMAK Vancouver, led by Creative Director, Glen D’Mello and Lead Choreographer Rohan D’Silva, presented a spectacular show with beautiful costumes, amazing sets and brilliant lighting.

From Madhubala to Madhuri Dixit, Parveen Babi to Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor to Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai to Zeenat Aman, bollywood DIVAS paid tribute to the leading ladies of Bollywood – the world’s largest film industry based in Mumbai, India.

The show opened with a very special performance by the VICTORY Bollywood Dancers – a group of individuals with Downs Syndrome who have been under the Dance as Therapy program run by Shiamak’s Victory Arts Foundation. Led by the Creative Director, Glen D’Mello and Lead Choroegrapher Rohan D’Silva themselves, they grooved to the currently trending super hit song ‘Calm Down’.

Summer Funk, the first half of the show, was performed the students of SHIAMAK Vancouver – – BC’s leading Bollywood Dance Academy. Kids, PreTeens and Adults from Surrey, North Vancouver, Downtown Vancouver and Burnaby paid tribute to some of the leading ladies of Bollywood.

The second half of the show, bollywood DIVAS, was performed by the SHIAMAK Vancouver Dance Team which is comprised of talented dancers from across the Lower Mainland. Leading the performances were some of the most talented principal dancers Rohan D’Silva, Shiraz D’Mello and Dalerina D’Silva from the original Shiamak Davar Dance Company who have performed with and trained and performed with Bollywood’s greatest superstars for feature films as well as award shows and live events across the world choreographed and designed by Artistic Director, Shiamak Davar.

The show was brilliantly curated into eight acts; each act was beautifully choreographed and designed with spectacular sets, colorful costumes, props and thematic lighting.

“Being a part of this SHIAMAK Vancouver production was inspiring, magical and electrifying! Celebrating the Bollywood Divas was such an honour!” – Julie Vu, Miss International Queen Canada. Julie mesmerized the audience with her performance to a medley of super hit Nora Fatehi songs.

Kanika Sasan, Vancouver’s celebrity actor, model, anchor and entrepreneur led a performance that paid tribute to the sirens of Bollywood with the songs Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai, Tip Tip Barsa Paani and Ishq Kamina.
