The Artist and her muse is all set to create a buzz. Soumita Saha’s latest song is all set to impress her audience as she maintains creation of magic both with her voice and her canvas. The singing sensation is back with a melodious Rabindra Sangeet song for World Music Day, ‘Mor Bhabonare’ presented by Melotunes Records. We are in love with the way her voice compliments the fusion beat arrangement of the track which is originally written and composed by one of the most revered people throughout history, Rabindranath Tagore. The song has been Arranged, mixed and mastered by Arindam Bhadra ( Bumba ).
One of the most unique aspect of this video is the Artist’s Muse ‘ King of Clouds’. He is fondly dubbed as ‘Megheder Raja’ in Bengali, the charecter happens to be that imaginary figure which kept on appearing in Indian literature, and folk tales. Singer and Painter Soumita Saha finds the king of clouds as her muse to feature in her upcoming project releasing on World Music Day. Soumita’s latest work on Tagore’s Song ” Mor Bhabonare ” is fusion work arranged on Jazz beats by Arindam Bhadra (Bumba). It is not only the song that bears uniqueness, but singer sticks to her much loved blend of art forms in her music video. This time the king of clouds become her Muse . ” We are familiar with Megheder Raja making his appearance on and off in your literature, lyrics and folk tales. I have envisaged him in dancing around in traditional attire. I believe certain dance forms in our culture makes a marvelous blend of masculinity, grace, and Rhythmic Aurae. I have envisaged the king of cloud pretty much that way” adds Soumita.
While Arindam Bhadra who arranged music for the song and mixed and mastered the vocals feel ” this song is kind of challenging, as this arrangement presents Rabindra Sangeet in western beats without disturbing the emotions the song bears. I was up for it the moment i heard about it ” . Soumita who calls Arindam her musical sibling adds ” i believe Bumba da did a fantastic job, he completely designed this music just the way i wanted ” . Soumita’s Experimental work on Tagore Music with Greg Sauzet made it to Italy’s Cefalù International Film last month. The celebration remains pending as the Singer is currently busy with her upcoming Hindi Originals. Speaking about Mor Bhabonare Soumita further adds ” There are few lines lines like ‘ tahare dekhina je dekhina, sudhu mone mone khone khone oi shona jay ,’ this very much can make me think of the king of clouds roaring followed by thunder. While ‘baje olokhito tari chorone , runu runu noopur dhoni’ gives an idea where the king of cloud dances around while it rains, the pitter patter sound of rain resonates with the chimes of his ghungroo ” . Her imaginary “King of Clouds” gets portrayed on canvas. The idea of Romanticising Monsoon as a queen fondly dubbed as ‘ borsha rani ‘ is common, Soumita introduces a new idea of Romanticising the King of Clouds.
