Amateur Sports Awards Recognize Outstanding Athletes
Surrey BC, March 5th ’23 – The first-ever Amateur Sports Awards event took place in Surrey BC, bringing together athletes from a variety of sports, including soccer, wrestling, kabaddi, field hockey, CFL, UFC, Olympics, and Commonwealth Games. The event celebrated the achievements of amateur athletes who have excelled in their respective fields.
Padma Shri Pargat Singh retired national level hockey player and captain of the Indian Men’s Hockey team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and Arjan Bhullar, a Commonwealth Games Wrestling Gold Medalist, were also present at the event.
The event awarded various athletes, including Arjan Bhullar, Amarveer Dhesi, Paul Bahia, Jessy Sahota, Anansia Aggarwal, Mannat Hundal, and others with special awards. Teams such as Surrey Eagles, BC Tigers, Surrey FC, Canadian Mal Wrestling Club, Field Hockey Canada, and Cricket Canada were also in attendance.
Mr. Amit Khannna of Zee TV Canada and Zee 5 and Mr. Garry Sangha of CCI Group of Companies were also present at the event to present the awards and show their support for the athletes. Organized by Goldie Dhillon and Ron Dhaliwal, the Amateur Sports Awards aimed to recognize the efforts of exceptional athletes and promote the importance of sports in society. The event was well-attended by the members of the community.

Amateur Sports Awards 2023 will be an amazing event where top athletes, sports personalities, prominent community businesses, and political leaders will be celebrating the sports together. Awards will be presented to athletes who made a difference at international, national, and local levels under different categories. Sports personalities and community business leaders who are supporting and encouraging sports will also be recognized. This sports event is the 4th and refined version of the smaller-level awards events since 2013.
