Talking about her intent behind doing the film, she says,
“As an actor, I feel responsible towards the content I’m signing up to be a part of. When I read the script, I gave it a quick nod as it gave me an opportunity to become the voice for many women who don’t speak up for themselves. The film is about women empowerment, and I’m extremely proud to have done this film”.
The actress also speaks up about the the gender inequality that still prevails in the society, and shares how it all boils down to parenting. She says,
“Gender inequality begins at home. Because parenting is the base and parents should take this very seriously. It starts with very tiny things; with statements like ‘boys don’t cry’ or ‘don’t cry like a girl ‘. Emotional sensitivity has nothing to do with gender. It never has. The film is a reflection of the society, and I hope to make a difference with this film”.
