Sanjana Solanki plays Manleen in Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik’s latest TV show, Channa Mereya. The actor shares that the beautiful title of the show reminds everyone of our beloved ones and therefore apt for this show that deals with relationships and issues related to it.
“Channa Mereya is indeed a unique show as the storyline revolves around two amazing chefs but from different family backgrounds. How their love for cooking will turn around their dislike for each other into admiration will be an interesting watch. My character Manleen is the sister of Aditya (the leading character played by Karan Wahi). This is a different kind of role for me. She is a nice girl who tries her level best to impress her mother,” she says.
The show has a big ensemble star cast. Sanjana enjoys spending time with her co-actors.
“My co-stars are really very humble and cooperative. It’s a new show and they make me feel comfortable around them. It’s a family-like atmosphere on the set,” she adds.
The actor then praises the Patnaiks and their production house Beyond Dreams. She also says that they know how to come up with unique storylines every time to catch the attention of the audiences.
“Beyond Dreams has always tried to come up with different concepts and interesting shows. The title that suggests something beyond our dreams does get us fascinated from the very beginning. Yash sir and Mamta ma’am have given me this opportunity and trusted me with Manleen’s character in the show. I am very thankful,” she continues, “People always like something different or concepts that are still new because over the period of time the awareness has increased, and people are no longer passive watchers. They watch, interpret and also know what to consume and what to avoid, so something beautiful yet unique will definitely attract the audiences.”
About the changes she has seen in the entertainment industry over the years, the actor adds,
“The Entertainment industry has grown a lot over the years. As technology grew, people started having more convenient access to watch. For example, our show is also available on disney+ hotstar and a lot of people are enjoying watching it online as well.”
It’s a general opinion that daily soaps will always have an audience no matter what. Agreeing, Sanjana says,
“This is true as daily soap reaches every city, village and also it comes every day. So, people are more likely to get involved in the story. People can also relate to these stories very well as the concepts are households, and are picked by looking at the tastes of the audience.”
