Saloni Sings In Mother-Tongue Telgu In New Track “Legacy”

Singer and Songwriter Saloni released her latest R&B single ‘Legacy’ recorded in the famous Big Bounce Studio.

With over 5 million views on TikTok and 13,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, 20-year-old Saloni is no stranger to the music scene. Having been at the forefront of international music contests, her accomplishments and viral music content have made her one of the most sought-after artists over the past few years, and on top of the list for many tastemakers across the Globe.

Following the success of her last single, ‘Know About You’, ‘Legacy’ is a soulful R&B track that sets a new standard in the South Asian music scene. Reminiscent of the sounds of Summer Walker, Saloni sits perfectly in the trending music market as she brings us her mix of soulful, classic-feeling R&B with a contemporary, current sound. Singing in her mother-tongue Telugu for the first time on a track, Saloni is on a mission to popularise Telugu music in the Western music scene.

‘Legacy’ is Saloni’s manifesto, with empowering lyricism, it’s a feel-good track about the legacy she wants to leave behind. The smooth melody, accompanied by the inspiring lyrics and crisp production, together form the perfect blend for a mellow vibe, that is calming and tranquil but also motivational.

Speaking on the track Saloni states, “Legacy is a confident & uplifting representation of who I am, where I’m currently at, and my ultimate mission. With elements of my mother-tongue Telugu, I aim to speak to my audience about the legacy I want to leave behind, as well as bring forward a smooth R&B record that anyone can enjoy. Whilst this track expresses my goals, I also aim to spark the minds of any listener with a dream to leave their own Legacy.”
Although she was born and raised in the U.K, Saloni keeps her roots close to her heart, with the ability to sing in 10 different languages, her music is a representation of the South Asian culture and the different dialects within it. As well as being coined BBC Introducing artist (2021), Saloni has chorused for the legendary S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, toured with K.S. Chitra, and shared the stage with Indian Idol star Revanth, and fellow U.K Asian artists Arjun, Mumzy, Tasha-Tah and more.

Having gained a significant number of new listeners off the back of her Desi remix of Love Nwantiti which has now accumulated over 70k streams on Spotify, Saloni has defined her signature style, a much-needed, versatile, refreshing sound that embraces her roots and heritage. Over the past two years, Saloni has been adding to her endless list of achievements from performing for the Vice President of India, to performing at a range of events including the BBC 3 Counties Introducing Radio Live stage, supporting Jaspreet Kaur’s “Girl Like Me” Book Tour to a range of festivals and meals across the U.K.

Saloni has already been featured on BBC Asian Network and other leading media outlets. As well as more music and performances in the pipeline for the remainder of 2022, Saloni is working on some exciting collaborations as well as a brand new album.
