5X Fest Reopens Featuring Viral Jalebi-Baby Sensation Tesher
Vancouver, BC, Canada – This year’s 5X Festival celebrations have just been super-sized! Or Jalebi-sized, some might say! The South Asian youth mega-event has just added a FREE Reopening Celebration to their lineup of events. Happening immediately after the 5X Blockparty on June 11 at Holland Park from 6-9pm, the Reopening Celebration will feature viral Jalebi-baby sensation Tesher, local super-producer Intense, JUNO Award winner DJ Shub, the iconic Delhi 2 Dublin, and other various personalities and community heroes.
“We’re so excited to come together – it’s been a long 2 years!” said 5X Executive Director, Tarun Nayar. “Thanks to the Department of Canadian Heritage, we’ve been able to expand the scope of our programming and truly welcome in the whole community – we’re back, and there’s no better way to celebrate than through music, culture and dance”
Free to the public, the community event marks the truly historic landmark of the community’s transition out of the pandemic. Gates will open immediately after the Blockparty, on the same grounds, subject to capacity. All 5X Blockparty attendees will have guaranteed entry into the second event, the newly added Reopening Celebration. Come one, come all, it’s time to come together!
This year’s 5th annual Blockparty will now take place with adjusted hours from 10am-6pm and features a dizzying array of headliners with ‘literally no down time’ say 5X organizers. Highlights include Punjabi music superstars Jasmine Sandlas and The PropheC, Toronto based rapper AR Paisley, and many more – a true cross section of the richness of the current South Asian sound.
From June 11-17, 5X Festival will elevate South Asian youth culture with its week-long schedule of events highlighting the latest and best in South Asian music, art and culture. From art installations, to pop-up dance performances, live music to panel discussions, the festival highlights over 50 performers across 5 events. 2022 guests include Jasmine Sandlas, The PropheC, AR Paisley, Khanvict, Shreea Kaul, Ikky, Robyn Sandhu, Rehma, TBM, Aanam, Jolene Sloan, Bianca Maieli, MTooray, and more!
Sharing the vision of 5X, General Manager Harpo Mander explained, “We’re building a world where we belong and thrive. A home full of community, magic, compassion and passion. A home is where creation happens, curiosity happens, joy happens. A world to be bold in. To express ourselves without limitations and constraints.”

5X Blockparty

Ain’t no party like a 5X Blockparty. Our flagship festival is back on June 11th with some of the hottest, boldest, fiercest names in the game. Tickets include concert access, an array of food vendors, art installations, a merchandise area, and the finest brown escapist experience you’ve ever encountered.
