Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu wins 70th Miss Universe after Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen
The 70th Miss Universe competition takes place at Eilat, Israel. The top 3 finalists include Paraguay, India, and South African. India’s Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu wins the crowns as Miss Universe 2021. Miss Universe is a prestigious title that only two Indian women have brought home so far, Sushmita Sen 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
Evidently, it is a tough competition with the first runner up was Miss Paraguay. Furthermore, the second runner-up was Miss South Africa. However, as soon the host, Steve Harvey announced Miss India Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu as the winner, the entire stadium broke into a cheer. As can clearly be seen with the photos below, Harnaaz was quite emotional. She broke into tears as soon as her name was announced as the winner.

Who is Harnaaz?
21-year-old Harnaaz was born into a Sikh family and she hails from Chandigarh. She is a yoga enthusiast and fitness lover. In 2017, she won Miss Chandigarh, later in 2018 she claimed the title of Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018.
Apart from representing Miss Universe title, Harnaaz is pursuing her master’s degree in public administration, and she aims to make her parents and country proud.
