“This nine-yard-wonder has evolved its craft as the time has gone by and attracted lot more women to embrace in full style. Interestingly, our much-loved celebrities from different fraternities have given an all-new definition to the usual draping style and sported with trendy add-ons. I have been a little critical about the #Saree_tei_Naari challenge trending on social networks. I am a handloom gospeller and saree lover, but cannot quite gather the audacity to define womanhood by any attire.

The origin of the drape or a garment similar to the sari can be traced back to the Indus Valley Civilisation, which came into being during 2800–1800 BC in northwest India. The journey of sari began with cotton, which was first cultivated in the Indian subcontinent around the 5th millennium BC.
