The Dark Side Of Love Documentary On 14th February And Beyond

The dark side of love is exposed in this deep exploration of Valentine’s Day. This festival winner exposes the impact of this global love fest on the mental health of our society. The filmmaker explores the holiday’s origins, and how they’ve been twisted by consumerism and commerciality into a dark competition. While disguised as a celebration of love, spanning days of gifts, and adoration in some cultures, Valentine’s Day can often lead to humiliation, rejection, self-esteem crises & violence. Exploring the overlooked spending and traditions, the film reveals the dark facts about the commercialization of Valentine’s Day. Through shocking media footage and interviews, the film presents the case that an over-hyped day of love is now a catalyst for negative behaviors, fuelled by consumerism and capitalism.
