Shilpa Rao opens up about her latest track Raavan, about her experience working with Amit Trivedi, about trance tracks and more.

– You have created such a different track this time for us. It’s not romantic not a party number but a trance. How did the idea of this track come out?
This time not done a Romantic track, it’s a trance track and it’s always fun to do something new so yea. This is one of those things and I was recording Shaabaasiyan for Amit, Balki Sir and Amitabh. I was in the studio and Amit said you know there is this track you see what you feel like and sing something. The words were there but they were more intense. It just came with a flow and my first spontaneous reaction to the song and hardly took 2 takes and the song was over. That’s basically how Raavan happened and it’s a new avatar for me and so happy that people are enjoying it.
-Trance is still evolving in India not many create such music. How do you see it’s acceptance?
-How is your experience working with Amit Trivedi. Is there any interesting incident that happened while making the song that you can share with us?
-Name any three singers that you wish to work in future?
-After this what are you planning next?
Future projects yes, there are more couple of singles and songs that should be out, some tracks with Pritam so yea I am really hoping for a great festive season.
