When Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj was announced, it felt like a win for representation and quality political satire. Patriot Act sheds light on cultural and political landscapes all over the world, and gained a huge following in both the US and India. The show is unique and unabashed. It has fantastic and funny visuals that redefine and help take Hasan Minhaj‘s stand-up game to the next level. Imagine PowerPoint presentations in your Government and Politics class- except they’re exploding with color all over the stage, funded by a MNC worth billions, and presented by one of the finest and most well dressed (courtesy of Tan France) stand-up comedians of our time. Watching Patriot Act is an experience; it left viewers thinking about something new and meaningful every Sunday.
Patriot Act premiered on Netflix in October 2018. The show has released 39 episodes over 6 volumes since then. The series also won a Peabody award and an Emmy award for outstanding motion design.
Unfortunately, the show will not be renewed for a 7th volume, thus coming to an end. Hasan Minhaj took to Twitter to share the news.
