Teacher’s Day Special: Teachers Who Gave Their All For Their Students

Today on the birth anniversary of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India has been celebrating Teachers’ Day on this date since 1962. Teachers do not just impart knowledge on us, but they help us understand and apply it to our daily lives as well.

Today on the special occasion of Teachers’ Day we bring you some Bollywood teachers/professors who were a delight not only to their students but for us as well.

Amitabh Bachchan – Black

Amitabh Bachchan played the teacher to a blind and deaf Michelle McNally (Rani Mukerji). He taught her and enabled her to follow her dreams and become successful.

Shah Rukh Khan – Mohabbatein / Chak De India

He played the role of a music teacher in Mohbbatein who encouraged his students to take the risk and fall in love.

He also played the role of coach Kabir who inspired his team of women hockey players to win a gold for the country in Chak De India

Rani Mukerji – Hichki

Rani Mukerji, who suffers from Tourette syndrome, puts in her all in order to make her class of underprivileged students not only succeed in school but in life as well.

Aamir Khan – Taare Zameen Par

Aamir played the art teacher to an 8-year-old dyslexic child Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi (Darsheel Safary). His persistence in making the child release his gift as a painter helped the kid cope with his lessons as well as feature on the school’s yearbook. This also helped Ishaan build his relationship once again with his father.

Randeep Hooda – Sultan

Randeep trained a failing – almost given up – Sultan aka Salman Khan. Even though he initially refused to train Sultan as a MMA fighter, he gave in seeing his determination. He not only trained him the best he could, but also helped the wrestler find his self-confidence again.

Naseeruddin Shah – Iqbal

In this coming-of-age sports drama, Naseeruddin Shah played a drunkard who turns cricket coach to a deaf and mute boy (Shreyas Talpade). He helped the actor achieve his dreams and join the Indian Cricket Team.

Aamir Khan – Dangal

They don’t need a professional degree to be our teacher even our fathers can be our guru like Aamir Khan was to his daughters in Dangal. He trained them so well that Geeta Phogat went on to become the first Indian female wrestler to win gold at the Commonwealth Games.

Salman Khan – Partner

Yes he did play a guru. Salman played a love guru to Govinda in this light-hearted comedy. He helped him win the heart of the girl he loves through simplicity and pure love.
