When people think Sunny Deol, they think an angry young man with a 2 and a half kg hand, but hey, that’s not true. We met the actor last evening and spoke to him about his upcoming comedy, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.
Besides talking about YPD, the actor also spoke about Kriti Kharbanda, working with Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha and others, and lots more.

Talking about what’s different and new in this installment of Yamla Pagla Deewana, the Gadar actor said,
“Phir se is Yamla, Pagla and Deewana but in a different way. It’s like phirse hai wohi, par woh nahi hai. Because in this film Bob (Bobby) and my character are basically the only two connected together, dad is not part of us. That’s why it’s different.”
When asked about speaking and acting like a Gujarati in the film, Sunny said
“I’m so used to it.”
Talking about the script
“The story is Punjab and Gujarat together, our characters are not related and related, so that is the interesting bit of the whole thing. Eventually, in the end, Bobby was working with Salman (Khan), so we spoke about we wanted to put Rafta Rafta.”
Elaborating further he said that on such a happy note Shatrughan Sinha was bought on board along with Rekha and Sonakshi Sinha for the song. Shatrughan ji also then went on to come on board to do a cameo as a judge in the flick.
Talking about the box office, here’s what Sunny said,
“It doesn’t bother me from that point that it has to hit 100cr or these many crores, because this becomes the way people are working. The reason should be to make good films.”
Talking about casting Kriti Kharbanda, the Ghayal actor said,
“I think she is a fine actress, a good actress. And if you’ve seen the promos, she is looking good.”
When asked what kinds of scripts he is on the lookout for he said,
“I have always been looking for good scripts.”
On the work front, Sunny Deol will star in Bhaiaji Superhit post-Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se – a family entertainer – stars Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Kriti Kharbanda in prominent roles. The film will release on 31st August.
