Bobby Deol, who was last seen playing a grey (more black) character in Race 3, is all set to share the screen space once again with papa Dharmendra and big brother Sunny Deol in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.
While in conversation with us yesterday, the Soldier actor opened up about his absence from the limelight and keeping his family away from it too, Yamla Pagla Deewana, his movies, fans and lots more.
Here are some excerpts from our conversation with the Ajnabee star Bobby Deol:
In the recent past, Bobby was seen in Poster Boys and Race 3. The actor was asked how it feels returning to cinema after a while and here’s what he replied,
“This is what I was working hard towards, to keep busy and be working every day. I’m very excited and happy.”
Talking about working with his father, Bobby said,
“For me working with my father is always a dream for me. Apne was the first time I faced the camera with him, so I wish I had just done more films with him. Sometime I look back and think why I took so long to do Apne. So, at least it happened, so I’m really excited.”
Talking about doing romantic films, the Bobby Deol said,
“It’s been fun. In all the Yamla Pagla Deewanas, I have been the deewana, so I’ve always romances and been great fun with Kriti (Kharbanda). She’s also been in the industry and is hardworking, and a good actor. It’s been nice.”
Talking about his inspiration for getting back to films and giving us so many in the recent past, this is what the Bichhoo actor said,
“My inspiration is the love which my fans showed me. They were always there. I didn’t do anything to make them happy and when I was going through a bad time and I remember I used to go out and meet people/fans, and there were so many fans, they used to keep saying aap kuch kar nahi rahe ho, aap dikhte nahi ho aaj kal. I would be mai kya bolu aapko agar log kaam de nahi rahe, toh dikhunga kaisa. So that is my inspiration”
When asked about the creation of the song Rafta Rafta in the movie,
“I think it is a great track.”
Further, Bobby said that when they thought of the song, Salman came to their mind as there are similarities between Salman and Dharmendra paaji. He continued that it was Salman’s idea to bring Rekha, Shatrughan Sinha and Sonakshi Sinha on board for the song.
When asked about the attention his son gets from the paparazzi Bobby said,
“I have always tried to keep my family away from the media.”
He continued,
“I never wanted them to get influenced by glamour and the movie showbiz, it all affects you.”
On the work front, Bobby is currently part of Sajid Nadiawala’s Housefull 4 – a comedy with a touch of reincarnation. Sharing space with him in this installment of the franchise will be his YPD co-star Kriti Kharbanda.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is a family film as it stars the males of the Deol family – Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby, along with Kriti Kharbanda. The movie is set to hit theatres on August 31.
