Saqib Saleem is a guy who is frank enough that he will make you feel comfortable in front of him.
This I realized while interviewing him for his upcoming horror flick ‘Dobaara’.
Even when it comes to speaking about horror movies in India, Saqib has such an honest opinion that it becomes difficult to believe that a celebrity could be that frank.
But yes, this is Saqeeb we are talking about, and he is actually too frank in giving an opinion, which you would realize further on.
Speaking about the audience for horror films, Saqib said,
“We have grown from Ramsay brothers’ times of ghost. The genre has to move past the old, mundane things we’ve done.”
He further went on to say that
Indian films haven’t done anything path-breaking yet.
When asked about his own sister Huma Qureshi’s film (who is also a part of ‘Dobaara’) ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, Saqib subtly said,
“I think ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ could be a better film. The first half kept me gripped, but I eased down during the second half, which should not have been the case.”
