Arjun Kapoor is amongst those Bollywood celebrities who have seen the industry very closely, his father Boney Kapoor being a well-known producer.
The last release, ‘Baahubali 2’ has set a benchmark which seems next to unachievable for Bollywood films.
Arjun Kapoor spoke about the challenges this movie has put forward for Bollywood, at a recent interaction. He said:
“We should celebrate that a film crosses barriers of language. It is a festival and has redefined why people want to come to the cinemas. Why are we not talking positive about it? That film has been welcomed by the entire country. Our ambition should be to be happy and make good films. ‘Baahubali’ is an exception. It is an exception. I am happy that ‘Baahubali’ did well. There shouldn’t be any grudge. ‘Baahubali’ is an unconditional film. We have an inherent problem that we don’t like others’ success. ‘Baahubali’ should inspire us to make those kinds of films. We should be positive about other movies. Hits and flops happen. Our content has hay wired sometimes on which we are working. Making a movie like ‘Baahubali’ is a risk but we need to take that risk.”
What a befitting reply, Arjun!
