2015 has been a wonderful year for many Bollywood actors and actresses. As debutants, like Sooraj Pancholi, launched their careers, old timers like Akshay Kumar continued to star in films. Check out our list of the top 10 Bollywood actors of this year!

Currently, Varun is filming for his father’s film, Dishoom, slated to release sometime in 2016.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar has been around in the industry for many years. While not all of his films today are immensely popular, he is a very dedicated actor and gives his all into his work. This year he was seen in four films – Baby, Gabbar is Back, Brothers, and Singh is Bliing – and will be appearing in many more movies in the near future.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant has really surprised everyone with his acting talent this year. His portrayal of a Bengali Sherlock Holmes in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy stunned viewers and critics alike. He has been roped into a biopic on M.S. Dhoni, which will release in 2016.

Salman Khan

Truly the Khan of all seasons, Salman is basking in the glory of his two major blockbusters this year. His 2015 releases have reached out to wider audiences because of the family-oriented themes of both Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He will be back on the silver screen in and as Sultan in 2016.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

An actor that has come to fame quite recently is Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has been praised for his previous critically acclaimed performances in The Lunchbox and Talaash. This year, he was seen in Badlapur and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, in which he won all of our hearts as the journalist Chand Nawab. Having worked with two out of the three Khans, Nawaz will be seen next year in Raees alongside SRK.

Ranbir Kapoor

We all know Ranbir is a handsome and talented actor and he has proven it yet again this year. While Roy and Bombay Velvet did not garner much popularity, his role as Ved Sahni in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha was well-appreciated by all, and it was a pleasure to see his rekindled onscreen chemistry with Deepika. Ranbir is currently filming for Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Rajkummar Rao

Another actor to add to the list of upcoming talents is Rajkummar Rao. After debuting with Love Sex aur Dhokha in 2010, he has come a long way, receiving a National Award for his performance in Shahid. This year he was seen in Hamari Adhuri Kahani and Dolly Ki Doli, in which he played a sarcastic but concerned husband. Next year, he will be seen alongside Aamir Khan in the biopic Dangal.

Amitabh Bachchan

We never get tired of seeing Big B on the silver screen. He is an eternal actor of Bollywood and continues to be an inspiration for all. His performance as Bhashkor Banerjee in Piku was simply amazing, reminding viewers of their own fathers and grandfathers. He stars in Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming film Wazir, which is slated to release early next year.

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan is by far one of the most versatile and talented actors in the industry. Having worked in both Hollywood and Bollywood, Irrfan churned out numerous releases this year, including Piku, Jurassic World, Talvar, and Jazbaa. He also starred in AIB’s supremely popular music video, “Every Bollywood Party Song.” We certainly hope to see more of Irrfan Khan in both Indian and Western cinema.
