#3YearsOfSOTY – Have the students finally graduated?

Dharma Productions youth based film Student Of The Year, which launched the careers of Bollywood next generation of actors, completed three years on October 18th 2015. Since then leads Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have come a long way but do you think these third year students have finally graduated to earn the title of Bollywood’s next generation of superstars? Well let’s have a look at their career graphs.

Sidharth Malhotra

The outsider of the gang, Sidharth’s character Abhimanyu Singh reflected much of his real life persona. Abhimanyu, like Sidharth was a man with a mission – a mission which three years later seems to be completed. With three diverse consecutive hits (SOTY, Hasee Toh Phasee, Ek Villian) to his name Sidharth Malhotra proved to be the ideal shape shifter Bollywood needs.

Alia Bhatt

Initially considered to be Bollywood’s Barbie doll, Alia Bhatt has come a long way since her school girl days in Student of the Year. Karan Johar’s sexy Shanaya graduated to deliver brilliant performances in films such as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and the unforgettable Highway. Much like her character in SOTY, Alia has shown signs of growth as her career progresses. Her upcoming film, Shaandaar is one fans are looking forward to.

Varun Dhawan

Considered to the privileged one of the lot, Varun Dhawan has proven to be an asset to the industry. With versatile films role such as Humpty (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya), Raghav (Badlapur) and the most recent Suresh (ABCD2), Varun Dhawan has displayed a graph of profession much like his character Rohan in SOTY.

If you were to ask me, these third year student have earned ever glittering letter on their hypothetical degree as Bollywood actors!
