Surrey, BC – Moving Forward Family Services is proud to mark a decade of providing innovative, accessible mental health services to individuals in need. Over the past 10 years, the organization has grown to become one of Canada’s largest non-profit counseling service charities.
A Decade of Impact: By challenging the status quo and working outside traditional systems, Moving Forward Family Services has demonstrated the effectiveness of innovative approaches in supporting vulnerable populations. The organization looks forward to continued growth and impact with the launch of the Moving Forward Health, Wellness and Beyond Centre.
A message from the founder, Gary Thandi on this milestone occasion “I started Moving Forward Family Services after experiencing several years of moral distress, having to turn countless numbers of people away or putting them on massive wait lists. I knew there had to be a better way, and that is why I started Moving Forward Family Services. Transformative, systemic change is possible when like minded people and groups come together, putting aside egos, working past silos, and centering client needs over system needs.”
To commemorate this milestone, Moving Forward Family Services invites the community to join them for an event on September 20th (10:30 am – 2:30 pm) at 4915 Railway Road. The event will showcase the organization’s journey and impact on mental health care in BC.
Honoring Veterans: The celebration will be followed by a walk to honor veterans, joining Canadians nationwide in appreciation and support for those who have served.
