SACH Inauguration Fundraising Gala To be Held on April 26

Come join us for our inaugural SACH Fundraising Gala on April 26! Help us provide vital services to people of South Asian descent and their families living with mental-health, addictions, and socio-economic challenges, so that they have better access to culturally relevant supports.

Founded in 2020, SACH South Asian Community Hub Society staff take information to those who require assistance and walk alongside them to get the services they need. This is making a significant difference in people’s lives in Metro Vancouver.

Along with funding from the BC Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, the SACH outreach team also works closely with Community Integration Specialists from the BC Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction to help community members who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

SACH connects people with wraparound services and resources, such as food banks, income and housing supports, counselling, home detox programs and medical services. These services support individuals as well as members of their families.

“SACH outreach workers develop relationships with families that are built on respect, trust and cultural safety in their first language,”

said Gary Thandi, SACH board member.

The next phase of the SACH vision is to open a South Asian Community Hub in Surrey – a one-stop shop of health and social services – bringing non-profit service providers together, in one location, to serve clients in a culturally sensitive, confidential, and coordinated way.

To help make this vision a reality, SACH is hosting its first annual “SACH a Worthy Cause” Fundraising Gala at Crown Palace Banquet Hall (12025 Nordel Way, Surrey) on Friday, April 26th.

“We’re bringing together key community impact leaders, businesses and governments to highlight the important work being done to support the South Asian community,” said Harman Singh Pandher, SACH board chair.

“We have some exciting prizes, auction items and inspiring speakers coming to the Gala!” said SACH executive director, Dr. Daljit Gill-Badesha. “It will be SACH an entertaining night – network with impact leaders and enjoy fabulous mocktails and food!”

Tickets are $125 per person.
