BC Artists Performing At Annual Bumbershoot Festival Seattle Centre

VANCOUVER, August 7, 2018 – Music BC is thrilled to continue their partnership with Bumbershoot, an annual international music and arts festival, taking place between August 31 – September 2, 2018, in Seattle. As a result of the partnership, Music BC will be showcasing four BC artists on various stages throughout the weekend as part of their commitment to support BC artists and industry professionals.

This year’s lineup includes some of BC’s best-emerging artists:

Daysormay– This alternative 5-piece band from Vernon, BC, continue to shake heads with their epic sounds and impressive songwriting chops. Unsatisfied to churn out simple three-minute rock standards, they continue to challenge their craft by hiking to new songwriting heights and attacking each new live show with the relentless energy of a band on the verge.

Khanvict– Asad Khan, professionally known as Khanvict, is a Pakistani-Canadian DJ and producer based in Surrey, BC. Having arrived as an immigrant in 2001, Khanvict explores his roots through his music. His style blends elements of classic Bollywood, Sufi and Punjabi music with Bass, Moombahton, and Trap.

Jo Passed– An indie/alternative band, Jo Passed originally consisted of Jo and his friend and drummer Mac Lawrie. The two moved to Montreal together and toured the far-right corner of North America. After Jo’s return to Vancouver, the band picked up two new members with multi-instrumentalist Bella Bébé and multimedia artist Megan-Magdalena Bourne on bass.

Alex Grigg, Executive Director of Music BC, said, “We are excited to be returning to Bumbershoot in continuation of our efforts to expand BC artists’ and professionals’ presence in Seattle and throughout the Pacific Northwest. It’s an honor to have our artists perform at one of North America’s most renowned music and arts festivals.”

Rob Thomas, Regional Vice President – PNWof AEG, said,

“Bumbershoot is thrilled to continue the tradition of showcasing international artists at the festival. Having Music BC and Creative BC as a partner only helps further that cause – we welcome our Canadian friends.”

Bumbershoot will take place at the Seattle Center and will feature a variety of musicians, artists and local culinary delights. Music BC would like to thank Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia for their continued support for BC artists and professionals and involvement with Bumbershoot.
