Aakhri Sach grabs viewers’ attention through its up-close and investigative angle!

Aakhri Sach is Disney+ Hotstar’s latest series, which premiered on 25 August 2023. Produced by Neeti and Preeti Simoes together with Nikhil Nanda, Aakhri Sach tells the story of a mysterious case where 11 family members were found dead in a home. The series is loosely based on the real-life Burari death case, which took place five years ago.

While the real-life incident attracted a lot of attention over the years, along with a documentary, what makes Aakhri Sach stand out is its investigative angle. The series follows Anya (Tamannaah Bhatia), the lead investigative officer’s journey into unraveling what led to the shocking incident. Through this journey, the viewers are transported back to events and occurrences over the years that could have led to the deaths, along with providing a back story to the family members.

So far, two episodes have released on the platform, and viewers have discovered some details, particularly about Bhuvan, one of the family members, played by Abhishek Banerjee. Also taking precedence so far is Aman, played by Shivin Narang, who is the fiancé of Anshika- a daughter of the family. Aman appears to be a suspect, but he undergoes an investigation of his own, making his motives so far unclear to the audience.

Performance-wise, Tamannaah Bhatia once again brings grace, this time to a challenging and dynamic role with an emotional quotient of its own. Abhishek Banerjee shines again in an unusual and interesting character, as expected from the fine actor. Shivin Narang makes his OTT debut with Aakhri Sach, and his performance is impressive. In two episodes, we have already seen various shades of his character Aman, and you can’t help but want to follow his story too. Popular actor Pratik Sehajpal makes a cameo at the start of the series, and through his short yet impactful performance, we learn about Anya’s mettle as an officer.

New episodes arrive weekly (Fridays), and viewers anticipate seeing more characters and great performances. The show is streaming in Hindi with Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali dubbing.

Aakhri Sach is a must-watch for its intriguing and spine-chilling story, which drives you to want to follow this case through. Now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in India, Hotstar in the UK, Hulu in the US, and Disney+ in South Africa.
